Let me tell you, the very same thoughts and questions went through my mind while I was employed. I was very happy and comfortable earning a monthly salary. My mindset was setup for this because I knew that my job is secured and i'm earning a good monthly salary. I never considered looking at alternative income streams because I was trapped in my comfort zone. This all changed the moment I got retrenched from my job.
